The thought of being a body builder was all that entered my mind  as a kid. My mother wouldn’t let me go to the gym because she thought it would stun my growth. At only 5’5” as a adult I think it could not have been any worst had I worked out as a kid.

I can remember looking through the large plate glass windows of Rivers’ Gym, on my way to school. There was a lot of really big muscular guys doing  reps with  what looked like hundreds of pounds to me.

I would stop pass the gym in the morning making myself  late for school every day, and on my way home would spend hours looking into the windows

After  Mr. Rivers would chase me away I would go home. and draw pictures of muscular guys with superhero costumes. I had a thing for heroes and muscles and to me they seems to go hand and hand.

In October of 1978 I got my first issue of Muscle Builder Robby Robinson was on the cover this guy who they called The Black Prince of bodybuilding looked just like the superheroes I used to draw as a kid. Big arms, wide shoulders, and small waist I knew right then what I wanted to do with my life.

I was so impressed with Robby Robinson  that he became my first legend of bodybuilding
