Ed
Corney
I remember hooking
school so I and a few friends could go see Pumping Iron at the movie
theater. Even at the tender age of 16 Arnold
Schwarzenegger
was already a bad influence on me. There
two people that got my attention in that movie more then even the great
Arnold, one was Mike Katz and the other was Ed Corney.
I
had never seen a real bodybuilding contest, I mean other then a bunch of us
guy taking of our shirt to posture for each other in the back yard. But that
did not in any way prepare me for the most amazing physique presentation
ever seen when Ed Corney took the stage.
His transition from
one pose to another was like nothing that I have seen even to this day. Ed
Corney would move his arms from one pose to another while, he pivoted on his
heels and toes in a way that gave the illusion that he was standing on a
carousel and the floor was rotating under him.
Ed
Corney is widely regarded as the
greatest poser that the sport of bodybuilding has ever known. Ed was born
November 9, 1933 in Hawaii and has won such contest as the
IFBB Mr. America, IFBB
Universe , IFBB Masters Olympia 60+ (twice) and is a member of the IFBB Hall
of Fame.
