As soon as we walked in the door we were accosted with vendors
promoting their products, some gave out stuff free, some spent more time telling
you how bad your life has been without their new revolutionary product, and some were
actualy there about health and fitness.
I had done some communication with
Sheri Horner of Fitness
Focus through email but had never met her. When she saw me at the Expo
she came right up to me and spoke as if we were old friends. I felt really
comfortable with her and a bit blessed that I contacted her.

I have to admit I was shocked
to see so many vendors in this place, just about every space available was taken
up by some organization or another, some were small mom and pop business trying
to take their business to the next step some were big corporations trying to
promote their brand name. All were doing business as best they could.

Somehow out of
the ashes of all the health and fitness hoopla a bodybuilding show broke out.
There was muscle and sinew being thrown around harder (and more accurate I might
add) then James ( the promoter) with a box
of
Promax protein bars! James created a very unique format for
entry to the bodybuilding show. The upper level was free to the public and the
lower was a VIP section at a cost. At first I thought that was stupid until I
realized this format would introduce the sport of bodybuilding to hundreds
of people that would have not other wise come to a show.

I would have loved to tell that
there was a great bodybuilder in the show but in truth the contest was pretty
evenly matched in all height/weight classes. When that happens you are almost
guarantee to get some audience that disagree with the judges. Being a judge
myself I almost always side with the judges, there are time when the audience
sees one thing and the judges are looking for another this is especially true
for women's
bodybuilding so to have the crowd disagree is nothing new a to me an
expected behavior. This show was no different.
